Medical nutrition therapy is a scientific approach to diet conducted by a dietitian to help manage conditions such as diabetes, pre-diabetes, heart disease, GI disorders, certain cancers, gout, kidney disease, malnutrition, and other medical conditions. I have helped clients lower their A1C, improve cholesterol, triglycerides, IBS, gout symptoms, manage weight, improve labs related to kidney disease, improve tolerance to cancer treatment, and increase their knowledge of how diet relates to their particular medical condition. So whether you need help managing a condition or want assistance to prevent it through diet and lifestyle, I will work with you to increase your knowledge and confidence when making decisions on what to eat.
There is so much conflicting information on diets for weight loss that it's difficult to know what to do. As a Registered Dietitian, and expert in weight management I can help. I believe in motivating my clients while teaching them the tools to be successful on their own. I will work with you to first accept yourself as you currently are, Next we will drill down and investigate what's going on or what may be preventing you from accomplishing your weight loss goals. Weight loss can be difficult and confusing with all so many diets to choose from. Let's work together on coming up with a plan that you are excited about. One that is healthy and works with your lifestyle.
If you're thinking of transitioning to a plant based or predominately plant based diet and want guidance on how to start I can help. There are several ways to do this depending on what you want to do. If you want to eat a vegetarian, vegan, low carb plant based, or flexitarian diet, I will help you navigate through the confusing information surrounding this topic and work with you to come up with a realistic and healthy plan. Awareness and understanding of the importance of cutting back or eliminating animal products from our diets for Pro-health and/ or Pro-Environmental reasons has increased. I too am making this transition and can help you from my own personal experiences. We will discuss essential vitamins and minerals that you may need to supplement your diet if needed. It's an exciting time for change and it can be very gratifying as well. Let me help you on your journey.
